Edison Girls Basketball Prepares for New Season

Season begins Dec. 1

The Edison girl's basketball team this year will face tests early in its season, Rose Hill Patch reports.

Head coach Dianne Lewis expects the team to be buoyed by returning forward Averi Collins and sisters Sheila and Ruth Sherrill, also forwards. But the team has also lost two starting guards, forcing Lewis to bring in other players in the positions.

Edison will have to train its new starters fast. The team will face off against imposing opponents like Yorktown and Woodson early in December.

"We have a tough preseason schedule so my girls will definitely be battle tested by the time we go into district play."

Edison's season starts on December 1.
