Update (Jan. 27, 7:45 a.m.) It has been announced that FCPS offices will be closed today as well.

It was announced around 7 p.m. today that Fairfax County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 27. Offices will be open with an unscheduled leave policy. 

A number of activities in schools and on school grounds have been canceled, including extracurricular activities, interscholastic contests, team practices, field trips, middle school after-school programs, professional learning and training courses, all adult and community education classes, and recreation programs and community use of the facilities. 

School Age Child Care (SACC) centers are also closed.

Weather emergency personnel are to report to work.
