Kingstowne 16 Plans Midnight Showing of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'

Currently the theater has set aside two auditoriums, but will expand if necessary

 

Twi-Hards, grab some popcorn and prepare to stay up late Thursday, Nov. 17. That's when "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1" opens at midnight at theaters across the country, including Regal Kingstowne 16, located at 5910 Kingstowne Towne Center. 

The film is the fourth film in a series based on the books by Stephenie Meyer and features actors Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in starring roles.

Theater management said Thursday that tickets are on sale for the midnight show and that the theater has set aside two auditoriums so far, but is preparing to add more if necessary.

Tickets are $11.25 per person, with discounts given for anyone in the military ($9.25) or students with I.D. ($10.25).

The film is rated PG-13 for disturbing images, violence, sexuality/partial nudity, and some thematic elements.

The theater is also planning a special showing, of "New Moon" on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and "Eclipse," the precusor to "Breaking Dawn," on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The films are part of a promotional package dubbed "Twilight Saga Tuesdays." ("Twilight," the original, was at the theater on Tuesday, Nov. 1.)

"Eclipse" ranked as the number one midnight premiere when it debuted last year, grossing $30 million.
