Kingstowne Blockbuster Closing in March

The store currently has everything on sale, including fixtures.

The Kingstowne Blockbuster next to Giant is currently having a closing sale. Store Manager Roger L. said prices on everything in the store, including the shelves, will go down week by week until everything is sold and the store closes.

The store manager said they've known the store would be closing since the end of January. Around Jan. 20, an employee previously told Patch they hadn't received word about the store closing. Roger L. said at this point, most of the good merchandise — including the TVs — is already sold.

Roger L. said someone recently stopped by the location to take measurements, and he said he thinks a restaurant may take its place. He said he was not sure what restaurant will take up the space.

The Blockbuster's last day of business will be March 24.

Well...actually a drugstore would be great! Walgreens...perhaps!

Seriously? Another drug store is definitely not what the Kingstowne area needs! And definitely not another pizza joint. Hopefully a nice restaurant/bar. How about a nice family friendly Irish pub???

The only thing that shopping center lacks is a good sports bar. Would love a Buffalo Wild Wings or a Glory Days. Might hurt Lucky's down the street, but would be convenient.

A good restaurant/bar or Sports Bar would be great. Even better would be a full service gym like an LA Fitness or Lifetime fitness.
