Police have charged a 20-year-old Alexandria man with destruction of property after he was found sleeping in an apartment building lobby last week, according to Fairfax County police.

Ian Morrison was allegedly sleeping in the building lobby on the 7000 block of Schoonmaker Court, near Manchester Boulevard, around 6:40 a.m. on Monday, April 23. When someone confronted him, Morrison fled, according to police. He was later apprehended by officers.

Morrison has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful entry and being drunk in public, in addition to the felony destruction of property charge. According to court records, Morrison is charged with attempting to destroy more than $1,000 of property.
