Moran Opponent Wants Rematch

J. Patrick Murray lost to Moran in 2010 but announced last week he plans to run again.

Republican J. Patrick Murray lost to Representative Jim Moran (D) by double-digits in 2010 for the 8th District congressional seat, but he's giving it another shot.

Rose Hill Patch reports that Murray announced last week that he would run again against Moran next year. Murray filed his statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission on November 1.

Murray, a retired Army colonel, only earned 37.31 percent of the general election vote in 2010 after winning a close Republican primary. Still, he called the 2010 race "the best experience of my life."

In 2010, Murray's strategy in Kingstowne relied on high turnout in Hayfield and Kingstowne.
