'Our Special Harbor Sprayground' Wins National Award
Space in Lee District Park will be recognized by Aquatics International.
Our Special Harbor Sprayground in Lee District Park has been given the Best of Aquatics 2012 Best Spray Park award by Aquatics International.
Aquatics International, a commercial and public swimming pool publication, sponsors annually the Best of Aquatics awards which recognizes impressive pools and waterparks throughout the country.
THe Fairfax County Park Authority won the Best Overall Commitment to Aquatics award in 2011.
The sprayground, which was built with contributions from the community, organizations and local government, is a zero water depth accessible waterpark that is part of a larger project called Chessie's BIG Backyard.
