Police Find Car Stolen in Kingstowne Carjacking
Toyota Camry returned to owner, suspects still at large
Franconia District police say they've found the car stolen in a December carjacking in Kingstowne Towne Center.
The car, a 1993 Toyota Camry, was discovered on the side of the road in the 3300 block of Southgate Drive, in Groveton. After searching the car for forensic evidence, police returned the car to its owner.
Police spokesperson Officer Eduardo Azcárate said the car had not been damaged or stripped.
The car was stolen on Dec. 29, 2010, in the parking lot of the Kingstowne Towne Center Safeway. A 38-year-old woman walking to her car was accosted by a man pointing a pistol at her. The man demanded her keys, purse, and cell phone, before driving away in her car.
Police describe the suspect, who has not been apprehended, as between 23 to 25 year olds, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 180 pounds, and white.
