Preliminary Hearing Set for Joshua Franklin

Franklin is accused of an armed robbery and rape that occurred on New Year's Day.

 

A preliminary hearing for Joshua T. Franklin has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 at 2 p.m. Franklin is accused of two counts of rape, one count of use of a firearm in a felony and two counts of robbery.

Fairfax County Police charged Franklin, 24, following an incident on New Year's Day at the Extended Stay Hotel in the Springfield/Franconia area. Police responded to the hotel around 6 p.m. after receiving a report of a man with a gun.

Police are currently investigating whether similar incidents in other jurisdictions are connected.
