My heart and prayers go out to the relatives of the driver..

From an outsider's perspective: my 30 minute commute this morning took me 2.5 hours! I passed through 2 more accidents before I finally got to work.. While I don't know the true cause of the accidents, people seriously need to keep their eyes on the road and/or slow down! A friend just told me he was rear-ended this morning too.. today is a baddd day to drive in NOVA.. be safe everyone!

I was about a 1/4 mile behind the accident when the highway was all but shutdown. The semi-trailer and minivan were in the far right travel lane, a short way before the exit ramp traffic to VA-286/Fairfax Co. Pwky southbound, where traffic commonly backs up all the way into the highway during morning rush hour. I couldn't tell if that was case today, but it would certainly make it safer to not have cars stopped on the far right travel lane trying to exit while everyone else is moving at highway speeds.

My condolences go out to the minivan driver's loved ones and the semi-trailer driver.

As I pray for the victim and his family, I have to wonder whether this accident occurred in whole or in part because of the congestion associated with the poorly timed traffic lights on the Parkway and the line that regularly forms on I-95 SB. The queue jumpers add significantly to an already dangerous situation: multiple lanes of stopped traffic alongside one or more lanes of I-95 moving along at 60 mph or higher. What's it going to take for authorities to do something about this?

Well, so much for the "Exspress Lanes". Has anyone notice how the total number of "Fatal" accidents have occured since these so called lanes opened?

Get a spell checker and a map - the incident didn't occur on the "Exspress Lanes".

I think he may have been referring to the accident that DID occur inside the express lanes, with a drunk driver going southbound in the north bound lanes, No need to be rude...even if he did spell it wrong, you don't have to try and embarrass him, it makes you look like a bully!! BTW, it was an accident, not an incident...NOW, see how childish it is?
