Telegraph Station Closes

Coffee and sandwich shop, music venue opened in 2010 on Telegraph Road in Rose Hill.

Telegraph Station, a coffee and sandwich shop and music venue, has closed.

The restaurant, which opened in 2010 in the 5700 block of Telegraph Road, has a 'for lease' sign on its front window. It was a go-to location for area mom's groups, the occasional birthday party and local group meetings. The restaurant started promoting and hosting local music acts in late 2011.

A message from the owners in the comments to a Facebook post on the venue's page says, "We gave it our best shot! Thank you for the well wishes, we'll keep everyone posted about the local events, just msg us and we'll put it up — we love our neighborhood!"

Telegraph Station was in the same shopping plaza as Tobacco Mart and Burke & Herbert Bank.

An armed robbery occured in the 5700 block of Teleraph Road last week, but police have not released information on whether a business was targeted in that incident.

We are so sorry to see Telegraph Station go. This was a great local business that contributed so much to our neighborhood. I am sad on Thursday evenings now, knowing that the blue grass "Cat Jam" isn't happening down the street. Many of those evenings were just magical, with great musicians of all ages and backgrounds, jamming together and making beautiful music. Telegraph Station will be missed!

The Thursday charity Catjam has relocated to King Street Blues in Kingstown Center, we really loved Telegraph Station and wish the owners best of luck in whatever they do!!

Good food and drink available. Try the open-faced steak sandwich:
