The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce will host a Legislative Meet & Greet on Thursday, September 20, 2012.  The event is sponsored by Springfield Golf & Country Club and the Rotary Club of West Springfield.

The Chamber will host the local business community at the Springfield Country Club from 5 to 7 p.m. for after-hours networking with the candidates from the 8th and 11th Districts, U.S. House of Representatives and Virginia’s open seat in the U.S. Senate.

Invited candidates include:

United States Senate
Tim Kaine - D
George Allen - R

House of Representatives - 8th District
Jim Moran - D, incumbent
Patrick Murray - R, challenger

House of Representatives - 11th District
Gerry Connolly - D, incumbent
Chris Perkins - R, challenger

In addition to open networking, each candidate will be asked to briefly highlight key issues and positions which are noteworthy to the business community. The format is not to debate, but to inform.

“This election year will mark a pivotal year for the future of our country and community, said Dick Lucier, Chamber president. “Each candidate's core beliefs will make a difference in our future.”

Space is limited and advance registration is required. Tickets are $20 general admission; there is no charge for Chamber members. Visit the Chamber website to register, www.springfieldchamber.org.
