Hi! My name is Pumpkin and I'm an adorable one-year-old Pekingese (or Peke mix) male, weighing in at just about 11 pounds. I’m a puppy and still learning, but I’m mostly potty-trained, crate-trained, and already know how to sit, lay down, and will come when you call me.
I walk well on a leash and enjoy getting outside for my regular walks, but I can be reactive and bark at other dogs when I see them... I just want to check them out and make sure they are OK to be on my turf. I’m still learning my outside social skills and will benefit from some training. I’m actually good with other dogs, get along well with my foster pup siblings, and will do best in a home with other small dogs.
My foster mom says I’m funny and laughs at me when I throw my squeaky toy in the air and chase it around the living room to entertain myself. I also love to greet my foster family when they come home from work, making sure I’m the first in line to say “Hello!” and give them kisses.
I’m a very sweet pup, but I’m also independent-minded and will need some time and space to settle into new surroundings. I’m affectionate once I get to know you and love to snuggle, but I need time to get used to a new family in a new home.
Mutts Matter feels I would do best with a family that has some experience with small dogs, can provide me structure, and will allow me to settle in at my own pace. They want me to go to home with other small dogs too, and I agree whole-heartedly - I’m ready to find my new pack.
How can you say no to this level of cuteness?
I also come with a free training session from Mutts Matter Rescue!
