 Becoming Disciplesthrough Bible Study.&nbsp\; BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH
  BIBLE STUDY is the foundation ofthe DISCIPLE Bible Study program. &nbsp
 \;DISCIPLEassumes that the bible is the key to renewal in the church. It
  recognizes thehuman-divine nature of the Bible: The actual texts of Scr
 ipture were written byhuman beings like ourselves in their cultural sett
 ings\, under the divineinspiration of God. &nbsp\;DISCIPLE affirmsthat t
 he canon was formed as it is in order for God to speak to us. BECOMINGDI
 SCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY gives equal time to both the Old and NewTest
 ament\, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God.
 DISCIPLE aims at transformation\, not just information\, and calls on pe
 rsons tosubmit themselves to examination by Scripture\, to put themselve
 s under thepower of God&rsquo\;s Word\, and to be changed by God&rsquo\;
 s Word. &nbsp\;DISCIPLE invites persons to bring theirexperiences and st
 ruggles to the Scripture. &nbsp\;All persons know something is amiss wit
 h theirexistence and yearn for the Word from God. &nbsp\;BECOMING DISCIP
 LES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY usesbiblical language and images and draws upon 
 the work of scholars to aidunderstanding of the Bible. &nbsp\;This study
 requires reading large portions of Scripture each week and is based on c
 arefulstudy and preparation. Groups will move through the biblical stori
 es ofCreation to the New Jerusalem. The titles of the sessions along wit
 h themewords\; theme verses\; and major persons\, events\, and topics wi
 ll set thesequence of the biblical story in the minds of the participant
 s. The principalScripture for each session follows the chronological mov
 ement of the biblicalstory.&nbsp\; This 34 week class starts on Tues Sep
