nFairfax Partnership for Youth\, Inc. will launch its new community-base
d program\,\nBully-Free NoVa: A Community of Respect\n. The launch recep
tion will take place on November 13\, 2012\, at the James Lee Community
 Center\, 2855 Annandale Road #101\, Falls Church\, VA 22042\, from 5:00
 p.m. &ndash\; 6:30 p.m.\nFPY&rsquo\;s bullying prevention training team
will provide an overview of the new bullying awareness and prevention pr
ogram. All community supporters of the anti-bullying movement should att
end this free event.\nYouth report that they are bullying and being bull
ied now more than ever before. All youth are vulnerable\, but those with
special needs\, racial/ethnic minorities\, and LGBT youth are at even g
reater risk. The social and emotional effects of chronic bullying\, incl
uding cyberbullying\, can be lasting and devastating for individuals\, f
amilies\, and the entire community.\nPeople who are bullied in the workp
lace have higher rates of depression\, anxiety\, low self-esteem\, healt
h problems\, poor job and/or school performance and suicidal thoughts. W
orkplace bullying and harassment increases the work load on mental healt
h providers\, raises insurance rates and cost of health care\, and emoti
onally takes a toll on families\, friends\, and colleagues in the work p
lace.\nLaunch reception attendees will learn:\n The basics of FPY&rsq
uo\;s program approach\n How to get their community-based organizatio
n or business involved\n How to support and be a part of this ongoing
initiative\nParticipants can register at www.fairfaxyouth.org for free.
\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\n\nFPY is a 501-C-3 that delivers essential community

velopment\, and builds strong community partnerships&hellip\;o help yout
 h thrive.\n\nFairfax Partnership for Youth&rsquo\;s efforts to prevent a
nd address bullying would not be possible without the continued support
