Elementary School Students Plan Fun Run to Benefit Chessie's Big Backyard

Rohil and Samik Bhinge have planned the second fun run event.

Fairfax Villa Elementary School students Rohil and Samik Bhinge have planned the 2nd Annual Fun Run to raise money to benefit Chessie's Big Backyard, a Fairfax County Park at Lee District. The event is scheduled for 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at 11635 Forest Hill Ct. in Fairfax.

Brothers Rohil, 9, and Samik, 8, have organized and planned the entire event with a little assistance from their mother Meena Bhinge. The two boys have also encouraged their friends to participate in the event to benefit the park located in the Kingstowne area.

The fun run will be on the trail around the community pond. One lap course around the pond is about 330 meters, or 1/5 of a mile. Participants will need to run five laps to complete one mile. Those interested in participating are encouraged to challenge themselves by pledging money per lap and run as many laps as they can handle.
