School Employee Charged in Laptop Thefts

Fairfax Co. Police found 1,200 school laptops in his residence and charged him with embezzlement.

Fairfax school employee Craig Soderberg, 60, of Alexandria was arrested Monday for stealing school laptops according to a Washington Post story.

Police charged Soderberg with two counts of embezzlement in a scheme to repair the old laptops with an intent to sell them online. Authorities searched Soderberg's home last week and found 1,200 laptops.

Soderberg was placed on administrative leave last Thursday and resigned on Friday.
