Fairfax County Sheriff's Office Takes Third Place at Dulles Plane Pull

The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office took third place in Saturday's Dulles Plane Pull, according to results posted on the event's Facebook page.

The team competed against 70 others to see who could pull an 82-ton FedEx cargo jet 12 feet in the shortest amount of time.
The Fairfax sheriff's office team pulled the plane 12 feet in 5.777 seconds, according to the results. 

That's a little longer than the winning team—the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office—who pulled the plane 12 feet in just 5.553 seconds.

The Chesapeake Sheriff's Office also won in 2012 when they pulled the bird 12 feet in 5.236 seconds.

Proceeds from the event benefit local charities, including Special Olympics Virginia. Since its inception, Dulles Day has raised more than $1.5 million for Special Olympics Virginia.
