Northern Virginia Transportation Commission Appoints New Executive Director

Kelley Coyner will succeed Rick Taube, who is stepping down from the position.

Members of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) recently unanimously appointed Kelley Coyner as the new executive director, according to a recent news release. Coyner will succeed Rick Taube, who is stepping down from the position after serving as executive director for 29 years.

“I am pleased at the unanimous decision by the NVTC Board to ask Ms. Coyner to serve as NVTC’s next executive director. This is a critical time for transit in the region and I am confident that she will continue to lead NVTC in the right direction," said Supervisor Jeff McKay who also serves as NVTC chairman. "I look forward to working closely with her to expand NVTC’s role in Northern Virginia and to continue to enhance our image throughout the commonwealth.”

NVTC is the leading source of information about public transportation issues in Northern Virginia. The commission funds and promotes public transit in a district that includes the counties of Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.
