Rose Hill Boy Scouts Leader Honored with 'Silver Beaver'

The Boy Scouts National Capital Area Council honored Henry Ruempler and other outstanding leaders at the Council's annual Court of Honor on April 4 at the Hilton in McLean.

Growing up in California, Henry Ruempler always enjoyed being a Boy Scout. He earned the Arrow of Light Award, the rank of Star, the God and Country Award, the Mile Swin and served as Troop 118's Senior Patrol Leader.

When his son became a Tiger Cub, Ruempler reconnected with the Boy Scouts. Ruemple served as troop committee chair, organized three district merit badge jamborees and counseled twelve different merit badges. He completed his Wood Badge course with Jeep Fortuna as his troop guide. Ruempler is currently the Colonial District Chairman, serves on the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) Board of Directors and is a unit commissioner.

The NCAC recently honored Ruempler and other outstanding local leaders at the Council's annual Court of Honor April 4 at the Hilton in McLean. Ruempler was recognized as a Silver Beaver — the highest volunteer recognition in local scouting.
