Construction on Portion of Telegraph Road to Begin in March

The improvements will include reconstruction to the Huntley Meadows Park entrance and parking lot on South Kings Highway.

Kingstowne area residents can expect to see construction begin on the Telegraph Road improvement starting in March. The project will widen the road between South Kings Highway and South Van Dorn Street.

VDOT is designing and constructing the project but it is being funded by Fairfax County — which allocated $10 million for the features of the project. The project is currently in its preliminary design stage, according to the county website.

The improvement will also include reconstructing the Huntley Meadows Park entrance and parking lot on South King Highway to provide better and safer access. According to the VDOT website, utilities that will need to be relocated during this project include, a water main, sewer lines, gas line, and overhead utility lines.
