Weekend Planner: Autumn Activities

Annual tree sale, fun run and bike, fall festival and a comedy show just for laughs

This weekend’s weather will be crisp and sunny, perfect for getting out and enjoying the plethora of fun events and outings this weekend around Alexandria.  Go on!  Get out there and have a little fun! 

Alexandria’s Annual Fall Tree Sale: Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the City of Alexandria’s Urban Forestry Section will hold a tree sale at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, on 2701 Cameron Mills Road. The goal of the sale is to promote the preservation of the Alexandria’s tree canopy by encouraging the planting of trees on private property throughout the City.  Contact John Noelle at 703-746-5499 or john.noelle@alexandriava.gov for more information.

Family Fall Festival: Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. enjoy a fun fall family event with various activities, music, booths, a puppet show, a moonbounce, food sales and more at Armistead Boothe Park, 520 Cameron Station Blvd.

Children's Festival at Wakefield Park: There will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be pumpkin painting, an obstacle course and basketball.

Law Enforcement Ride and 5k Run to Remember: Come out for some athletic fun for a good cause on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. This event is designed to honor the contribution and sacrifice law enforcement officers make every day and encourage community support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.  Contact Meg Lelli at 703-717-9313 or mlelli@event360.com for more information.
