West Potomac Alum Headed to Sochi
Skating officials grant Wagner an Olympic spot based on her body of work.

Despite struggles in the U.S. championships in Boston, West Potomac graduate Ashley Wagner is Sochi bound after being selected to the U.S. Olympic figure skating team. Wagner captured the final spot ahead of third-place finisher Mirai Nagasu.
Wagner finished fourth in the figure skating competition, but earned a nod from figure skating officials based on her overall body of work instead of Sunday's qualifying event.
