The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of the Northern Virginia area. The advisory begins at 11 p.m. Friday and runs until 1 p.m. Saturday.
NWS predicts a coating to one inch of snow and sleet and a trace of up to a tenth of an inch from freezing rain. It will all begin as snow and sleet mixes Friday evening, which will turn to freezing rain overnight.
Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. Ice is expected to accumulate on trees and powerlines.
