AMC Hoffman to Showcase Oscar-Nominated Films

See the best films of 2012 before the Oscars air Feb. 24.

The AMC Hoffman 22 will participate in a two-weekend Best Picture showcase in two back-to-back Saturdays, Feb. 16 and 23. Alexandria residents will have the opportunity to view the 2012 films that have been nominated for Best Picture at this year's Oscars.

This year's Best Picture nominees are:

  • Amour
  • Argo
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild
  • Django Unchained
  • Les Misérables
  • Lincoln
  • Silver Linings Playbook
  • Zero Dark Thirty
  • Life of Pi

While the Kingstowne 16 will not participate in a special event to showcase the Oscar-nominated films, the theater is currently showing many of the movies up for an award including Django Unchained, Les Misérables, Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook and Lincoln. The Oscars will air at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 on ABC.
