Chopteeth to Perform at Lee District Park Wednesday

The afrofunk big band will play their groovy music at the Lee District Amphitheater Wednesday evening.

The afrofunk big band, Chopteeth will perform Wednesday in the Lee District Nights Summer Concert Series at Lee District Park.

Chopteeth is a 12-piece, afrofunk orchestra. Through their unique sound, the band explores the common grooves between West African and American popular music.

Over the past few years, the band has performed all over the country. They also perform frequently at local music festivals, including Artscape, The Duke Ellington Jazz Festival, The National Capitol Bar-B-Que Battle, The Silver Spring Jazz Festival and The Adams Morgan Day Festival.

Concert performances at Lee District Park start at 7:30 p.m. Keep in mind that concerts at the Lee District Amphitheater will be canceled if it's raining. If there’s a threat of inclement weather, call 703-324-SHOW(7469) after 6 p.m. for updates.
