UFO to Perform at Empire in Springfield Wednesday

Local band Convictus will also perform during Wednesday night's show.

The famous British rock band UFO gained enough fame in the '70s and '80s to simply live off of their royalties. However, the band is still performing and producing music.

UFO is scheduled to perform at Empire in Springfield at 6 p.m. Wednesday night. Tickets for the show are currently on sale for $25.

Convictus, a local band made up of musicians from the Alexandria area, will also perform Wednesday night. Lead singer Mark Ellmore, said previously that the band enjoys playing good, happy and inspirational rock music.

Previously, Empire has also featured '80s rock band Kix, where Convictus also performed as an opening act. Kix — which still has a huge following — and other local bands brought in hundreds of rock fans for an entertaining show.

UFO is known for many of its classic rock tracks including "Burn Your House Down," "Mojo Town" and "Year of the Gun." Visit Empire for more information about the band and Wednesday's scheduled performance.
