Franconia Moose Lodge Sued Over Disco Ball Injuries

Injury occurred at a 2010 Sweet Sixteen dance

A woman who says she was injured by a falling disco ball is suing the Franconia Moose Lodge on Beulah Street, the Washington Post reports.

Ana Guevero Blanco was dancing attending a Sweet Sixteen party at the Moose Lodge on April 2010, her lawyer told the Post, when the ball fell, hitting her in the head and knocking her to the floor.

In her lawsuit, Blanco blames the operators of the Moose Lodge, located at 7701 Beulah, for not warning dancers that they would be at risk if the disco ball fell.

Blanco's lawyer told the Post that the accident cost her around $15,000 in medical fees to treat the injuries to her nose and face. Blanco also suffered a concussion and required plastic surgery, according to her lawyer.
