New Doctor's Office Opens in Kingstowne

Dr. Nikki Waddell previously practiced medicine in Woodbridge

Since the start of February, Kingstowne has had one more doctor.

Dr. Nikki Waddell's practice at Kingstowne Internal Medicine, located at Suite 300 at 5901 Kingstowne Village Parkway, opened at the beginning of the month after months of construction.

Waddell has been practicing medicine since 2005, after getting her medical degree at East Carolina University. Before coming to Kingstowne, she worked in Woodbridge.

Waddell says she was attracted to Kingstowne because it's closer to her home in the District of Columbia, while close enough to Woodbridge to let her see her old patients.

"This area is thriving," Waddel said. "It's a young professional area."

Like any new business, Waddell's practice faces some opening woes, including some initial problems with its computer system. And Waddell has more work ahead of her--in addition to exam rooms, the office has space for a future full-time nutritionist and a personal trainer.

Still, at least one of her returning patients from Woodbridge didn't mind the construction.

"I keep hearing The Jeffersons theme, 'We're Moving On Up,'" he told her, she recalls.
