Update: Hometown Veterinary Clinic Wins Readers' Choice

Leave a comment or review from 5 a.m. Monday until 9 a.m. Friday, about the best place to take your pet.

UPDATE: Congratulations to  for winning the Best of Patch poll this week in the "Best Veterinarian" category!

Voting by Patch readers began on Monday and Hometown saw 43 votes by the time the poll closed Friday at 9 a.m.  came in second with 12 votes.

Stay tuned for our next "Best of" poll coming up Monday—voting will begin at 5 a.m.

Have you had experience with a great veterinarian in Kingstowne or Rose Hill?

Patch wants you to tell us all about it in this week's "Patch Readers' Choice" survey!

You have until Friday at 9 a.m. to tell us what you think about your veterinarian by leaving a comment about it either below in the comments section or on the Places listing page (for the businesses linked below). Tell us why it's your favorite, and let other readers know the inside scoop.

Did we miss one? Let us know in the comments and we'll add it here!

Don't forget to click on the links above to rate the business on their Patch directory listing. You can even leave a review. Tell us why it's your favorite — let other readers know the inside scoop.

What will the winner get? Bragging rights! They'll be able to tell everyone they were voted a "Patch Readers' Choice."

The Patch editor will determine the winner, based on poll results, comments and reviews.

And in the event of a tie in our survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written both below in the comments and on the clinic's listing on Patch. So please let us know why you think your choice is the best.

Because this poll is not scientific, the poll is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and your comments and reviews (with comments and reviews weighted more heavily in the outcome). So, please vote only once per survey, per Patch site.

Hometown Vet and Dr. Melanie Smith have been my choice for per care (dogs) since 1997. On occasion, such as babysitting friend's pets) I've been forced to see other vets in the area and always leave feeling disappointed because the level of service is not up to Hometown Vet's standard. At Hometown, the staff are friendly and very competent; the facility is cheerful and clean, and of course, Dr. Smith is, in my opinion, the best vet EVER! She is knowledgeable, confident, honest, and one of the most pleasant people I know. She has an amazing ability to bond with pets and all my dogs over the years have loved her to the point that they don't get "vet anxiety" when they go for appointments. Dr. Smith provides sound advice on care and offers several options so that you can provide treatment for your pets without breaking the bank. She enjoys good relationships with area vets and veterinary specialists, which means that whenever I have to go see someone else on referral, my pets and I are always treated very well. At Hometown, you truly feel like your pets (and you) matter...because you do! Hometown also has Saturday hours, as well as late hours during the week, which is very helpful. Dr. Smith is also a US Army veteran, which matters to me!
