Preparation for the soon-to-be La Madeleine at Kingstowne Shopping Center has officially started.
Construction workers on a scaffold Wednesday were busy focusing on exterior work on the space where Blockbuster was located until this past March.
Earlier this summer, La Madeleine's future next door neighbor Adlers Art & Frame confirmed that management had informed tenants of the French bakery signing a lease for the space in the shopping center. The Kingstowne Shopping Center is owned by the Halle Companies.
La Madeleine has 63 locations across the U.S. and is owned by Le Duff America, a privately owned company. The new Kingstowne location is slated to open in 2014.
