Speak Out: Will Hilltop Village Center be a Disappointment?

As tenants are announced for the shopping center, Patch readers react to expected businesses.

As construction on Hilltop Village Center and Wegmans continues and leases are being signed, Patch readers and Kingstowne and Alexandria residents are keeping a close eye on the site and what businesses are moving in.

Many readers are not too happy with the tenants that have been announced by Weingarten Realty. While others are simply waiting for the anchor store Wegmans, despite the other surrounding businesses.

Patch reader AND wrote, "The property managers have proven that they are completely incapable of signing any nice restaurants or a gym. This disappointing shopping center is going to have Wegmans and then just more of the same, fast food, cleaners and mattress stores just like most of the other dilapidated shopping centers around here."

After Patch published a story about recreational amenities planned for the shopping center, readers were just as vocal about the plans.

"Sure, why don't we invite disney to build an amusment park there too!" wrote FFX County Resident. "Don't create an atmosphere of hositilites by putting stores left and right and only have a 100 car parking lot, (sarcasm) and little room for expansion."

Tenants for the shopping center include Wegmans, Mattress Warehouse, PNC Bank, Panda Express, Elevation Burger, SportClips and GNC. According to Weingarten Realty, there are a number of spaces at the shopping center waiting for leasing confirmation.

Will Hilltop Village Center be what you expected it to be? What businesses do you hope to see in the remaining spaces at the shopping center? Tell us in the comments!
