The former Springfield Mall, now Springfield Town Center, is slated to open in October, according to its Web site.

The owners of the mall, Vornado, recently sold the mall for $465 million to Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, the Washington Post reported.

Several tenants have already signed lease agreements in anticipation of the redevelopment's completion, according to CoStar Group, including:
The Washington Business Journal has also reported that tenants include Starbucks, LA Fitness, Chuy's (a Tex-Mex restaurant) and Banana Republic.

In all, the non-anchor space is 30 percent leased, according to CoStar Group. The mall is anchored by Macy's, Target and JCPenney, which will all remain operational while the mall is closed for construction.

Agreed, looks more like a mall than a "town center" I'd like to see local restaurants with good bars such as a Great American Restaurant
