Adel sold me the Tribute stating that it had just passed the VA state inspection in May of 2013 and proceeded to show me the sticker. I took the Mazda for maintenance on 24 June 2013 after only having it 10 days. The engine light had come on and my brakes weren't working properly. I was afraid to continue driving with weak brakes so it was looked at. They had to repair various parts on my brake systems, struts, and an alignment. He stated that there was no way that my SUV should have passed safety inspections because of the condition my brakes were in. He said the amount of corrosion, tears, and decay all around in could not of happened in two months' time. I asked him to take pictures and when I went to pick up my Mazda he even gave me the parts so that I could show Adel at E&M. When I went to go speak with Adel, I told him that if he sold me a car that passed VA safety inspections, there should have been no reason why I had to have the brake system repaired. He was very rude and condescending, accused me of lying about getting the system fixed, said he didn't trust the dealership I took it to, and after showing him the pictures AND parts, he stated that he didn't know what I was talking about. I asked that he reimburse me for the brake portion of the repairs. He said that I would have to bring the truck in, leave it there for them to make sure I'm not lying about the repairs actually being made and then he would give me $232.65 (cost of brake repairs). I asked him to give me that in writing and he got upset. He walked out in the middle of conversation. Told me to be quiet and stop talking. He started saying no and that if I didn't trust him oh well, he doesn't believe the repairs were done. If my car really had met VA safety inspections, I should of never had to get my brakes repaired. My safety and that of my children could of been jeopardized by having such corroded brakes. The fact that he tried to say I lied about the repairs and then act like he couldn't see the damage on the brakes when they were right on his desk, makes me believe he knew the truck was NOT up to code. I don't appreciate someone trying to make a dollar while gambling with my family's life. Stay away!!!!
