  2. Expand your culinary knowledge at Green Springs’ Vinegar Tasting Party Saturday, August 20 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  You’ll learn how to taste with all your senses.
  3. The new westbound Little River Turnpike (Route 236) bridge over I-495 will be open by midday, Friday, Aug. 19.  This will open two lanes of through traffic and restore the merge lane from I-495 north onto Little River Turnpike West
  4. On this day in 1946, William Jefferson Blythe III was born in Arkansas.  His father died in a car accident before the birth so young Bill later took his stepfather, Roger Clinton’s last name.  In 1992 he would become President Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States.
  5. President Obama called for President Assad of Syria to step down. "We have consistently said that President Assad must lead a democratic transition or get out of the way. He has not led. For the sake of the Syrian people, the time has come for President Assad to step aside." Other European leaders echoed President Obama's words.
