Edison Lady Eagles Fall Short Against Colonial Forge

The team lost by six points, 52-58 during Friday night's game.

The Edison High School Lady Eagles fought hard throughout Friday night's state quarterfinal game against Colonial Forge High School — which also has the Eagles as their mascot. Unfortunately, Edison lost the battle by a mere six points, 52-58 at Robinson Secondary School.

The young team — made up of five freshmen and four sophomores — have had a strong season, beating South Lakes High School last week to win the AAA Northern Region Championship. The team also previously won against Centreville High School 58-53, in the regional semi-finals, and they beat Hayfield Secondary School and Wakefield High School in the National District Tournament in early February.

However, by the end of the fourth quarter Friday night, another set of Eagles moved on to the state semi-finals. Despite Friday's lost, the Edison girls' basketball team had a strong season this year with an overall record of 24-5.
