Election 2013: Ken Cuccinelli to Make Campaign Appearance in Springfield Tuesday

Virginia's Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli will make a campaign appearance on Tuesday morning at theGreenspring Retirement Community in Springfield.

Cuccinelli, who is also the Virginia Attorney General, will speak to members of the resident-run Greenspring Republican Club at 10:00 a.m.

Cuccinelli, 44, has $2.75 million in his campaign war chest as of May 29, 2013. Terry McAuliffe, his Democratic opponent and former chair of the Democratic National Committee, has $5.4 million in the bank.

Most politicians running for office in Northern Virginia pay homage to Greenspring. The retirement community is home to more than 1,800 registered voters and 89 percent of them voted in the 2012 Presidential election. In fact, the Greenspring precinct traditionally has the highest voter turnout percentage in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
