Fireworks Shows Set For the Fourth of July

Don't want to travel far for that perfect Fourth of July fireworks show?  Here are five local celebrations that include fireworks and more on or around the 4th. 

Reston

 Lake Fairfax Park special activities for the family on park grounds:

• Pony rides 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Petting zoo 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Moon bounces from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
• Puppet show near the carousel from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
• Enjoy a dip in the Water Mine Swimmin’ Hole - opens at 10 a.m.
• Fireworks 9:15 p.m.

The fireworks can be viewed from nearly any spot in the park.

City of Fairfax

• Independence Day Parade 10:00 a.m. to noon – Downtown Fairfax Historic District
• Old-Fashioned Fireman’s Day 12:30 p.m.  - 4081 University Drive. Firefighter competition, food, beverages and games
• Fireworks & Evening Show 7:00 - 10:30 p.m.  – Fairfax High School

Alexandria

Note: Celebrations on July 9th 

Oronoco Bay Park

• Alexandria Symphony Orchestra concert – 6:00 p.m. 
• Fireworks 9:30 p.m.

Vienna

Vienna Community Center 

• Arts and crafts, food, chili cook-off, antique and classic car show and rides 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
• Family games - 2:00 p.m.
• Music by Fat Chance 7 p.m. - Yeonas park
• Fireworks 9:15 p.m. – Southside park – Ross Dr.

Seating available at Yeonas park.  Some seating available near the playground at Southside park. 

Falls Church

George Mason High School

• Live music by Bad Hair Day – 7:00 p.m.
• Fireworks – 9:20 p.m.
