Five Things You Need To Know Today: June 15, 2011

CAC picnic, milling and paving on Telegraph Road, and more.

  1. Today will be sunny with a high temperature of 80 degrees. 
  2. The Franconia District Station Citizen's Advisory Committee is hosting its annual picnic tonight at 6 p.m. It will be held in the Helen Wilson Community Room at , and the CAC will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. They will also be supplying drinks. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish but not required to. The station's traffic division will be setting up several interactive displays designed to provide a demonstration of the impairing effects of alcohol. 
  3. Candidates for State Senate were recently in the area. Read all about it in . 
  4. Milling and paving are still occurring on Telegraph Road until June 24, so be mindful on your morning commute.
  5. U.S. President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill incorporating the Boy Scouts of America today in 1916, making them the only American youth organization with a federal charter.
