Capital Beltway and Telegraph Road Closures

Capital Beltway Closures: 

Monday, August 29 and Tuesday, August 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

• The left lane of the Capital Beltway Inner Loop THRU lanes (I-95/495 South) will be closed between Route 1 and Telegraph Road. 

Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:

• Two of the three THRU lanes will be closed on the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) between the Eisenhower Connector and Telegraph Road.  The center THRU lane will remain open.  Just after midnight, there will be a 15-minute complete closure, stopping all traffic in these lanes, 

MAJOR TELEGRAPH ROAD AND RAMP CLOSURES

Monday, August 29 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning, Telegraph Road northbound will be completely closed between the bridge over Cameron Run and the Beltway for two hours during this time window.  Significant delays are expected and motorists should avoid the area.  This work has the following impacts:

• Motorists headed North to Duke Street should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue and turn right to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street.
• The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed.  Detour:  Motorists should take Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the Outer Loop.
• The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) will be closed.  Detour:  Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue and turn left to the Eisenhower Connector to the Inner Loop.

Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1 daily 
from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

• The ramp from Telegraph Road South to the Outer Loop
  (I-95/495 North) will be closed.  Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the Outer Loop.
• The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed.  Detour: Motorists should continue to Duke Street East to U.S. Route 1 South to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop.
          

OTHER CONSTRUCTION UPDATES: 

I-495 north/west (Inner Loop) to Exit 169 B/A, Franconia/Springfield (Route 644) - Ramp closed Sunday - Thursday nights, 9:30 p.m.- 5:00 a.m.

I-495 Inner and Outer Loop to I-395 north - Ramps closed Sunday - Thursday nights. Traffic will be directed to I-95 south, take exit 166B, Fairfax County Pkwy. (Route 7100) south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-95 north and then signs to I-395 north.

I-495 south/west (Inner Loop) to from Exit 173, Van Dorn St. to I-395 - Two lanes closed Sunday - Thursday nights. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-395 north at I-495 - Two lanes closed Sunday - Thursday nights. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-395 reversible HOV lanes at I-495 - Road closed Sunday - Thursday nights. Traffic will be directed to use the general-purpose lanes of
I-395.
