Major Capital Beltway & Telegraph Road Closures

Most of the projected road closures and detours should primarily impact motorists at the end of the week, beginning August 19 through the weekend. Drivers should expect significant Capital Beltway (I-95/495) and Telegraph Road closures.  

CAPITAL BELTWAY CLOSURES:
Friday, August 19 at 9 p.m. until Saturday, August 20 afternoon:

There will be lane closures on the Capital Beltway Inner Loop local lanes (I-95/495 South) between Route 1 and Telegraph Road  

• The ramp from the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) to Telegraph Road North/Duke St./Eisenhower Ave will be closed. Detour: Motorists should continue on I-95 and take the ramp to Eisenhower Connector (exit 174) to Eisenhower Ave. EB to Holland Lane to Duke St.
• The access to the inner loop local lanes from Route 1 will be closed.  Drivers will have to use the express lanes.

TELEGRAPH ROAD CLOSURES:
Friday, August 19 at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning, August 22:

Telegraph Road northbound will be completely closed for road construction.  Telegraph Road North will be closed from just after the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to the bridge over the metro. 

Telegraph Road North:

• Motorists headed North to Duke Street should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue and turn right to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street. 
• The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed.
 Detour: Motorists should take Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the Outer Loop.
• The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) will be closed.
 Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue and turn left to the Eisenhower Connector to the Inner Loop.

On I-95 from mile marker 175 to mile marker 174, motorists can expect potential delays in this area until August 15 at 5:00 AM
