Rose Hill Roadways: Telegraph Road Closures
Road construction updates for the week of August 1.
Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will be conducting significant Capital Beltway (I-95/495) and Telegraph Road closures the week of August 1. This work will have major impacts on local traffic, especially the Beltway lane closures. Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. Variable message signs will be posted throughout the area with detour routes.
Monday, Aug. 1, through Thursday, Aug. 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily: The ramp from Telegraph Road South to the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the Outer Loop.
Monday, 1 August at 5 a.m.: the exit ramp from the inner loop (I-95/495 South) to Telegraph Road South will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Continue on the inner loop to Van Dorn Street to Franconia Road East to Telegraph Road

Tuesday, August 2 overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning: The ramp from Telegraph Road North to Duke Street East will be closed for bridge construction. Detour: Take the exit for Duke Street West and make a U-turn at Roth Street to return on Duke Street East.
Friday, August 5, at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, August 8: Telegraph Road southbound and northbound will be completely closed for road construction and girder placement. Significant delays are expected and motorists should avoid the area. Telegraph Road South will be closed from Duke Street to Huntington Avenue. Telegraph Road North will be closed from just after the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to Duke Street.
Major Beltway closures over weekend: Significant Inner Loop delays are expected!
Friday, August 5 at 9 p.m. until Monday, August 8 at 5 a.m. there will be lane closures on the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) between Telegraph Road and the Eisenhower Connector to lay asphalt. The first (left) lane will close at 9 p.m. Friday; and a second (middle) lane will close at 11 p.m. One (right) lane will remain open. At 5 a.m. Saturday, the middle lane will reopen, allowing two lanes of traffic. All three lanes of traffic will be restored by Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Metro weekend work, August 6-7:
On Aug. 7 only, buses will replace Blue and Yellow Line trains between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue.
