Springlike Temperatures to Continue Wednesday in Northern Virginia
What do you think of these balmy temperatures?
Usually this time of year, Northern Virginians are knee-deep in snow shovels, gloves and winter coats. But on Tuesday, six weeks into the official start of winter, it was all about golf clubs, convertibles and short sleeves.
The D.C. area experienced springlike weather Tuesday, with highs hitting 66 degrees at 4:30 p.m. (The record, according to WJLA metereologists Bob Ryan and Doug Hill: 73 degrees in 1950.)
The Weather Channel described it this way: "Let's face it. This has been a strange, mild winter and the peculiar 2011-2012 season continues this week."

The National Weather Service forecasts similar temperatures on Wednesday, with a 60 percent chance of showers on Thursday.
