Telegraph Road and Beltway Closures This Week

Closures and construction the week of Feb. 13.

Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will continue conducting Telegraph Road interchange and other area closures the week of Feb. 13.  Variable message signs will be posted to alert drivers and provide detour information when necessary.  This work will have significant impacts on Beltway and local traffic, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. The scheduled work is as follows.

Telegraph Road Interchange Closures

Monday, Feb. 13 through Thursday, Feb. 16 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning; also Friday, Feb. 17 daytime from 9 a.m. to noon:

  • The ramp from Telegraph Road South to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction during the following dates and times. 
    o Detour: Motorists should take the Huntington Avenue ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop.
  • The ramp from Telegraph Road South to N. Kings Highway will be closed for roadway construction during the following dates and times. 
    o Detour: Motorists should take the Huntington Avenue ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 South to N. Kings Highway.

Capital Beltway Closures 

Wednesday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, Feb. 16 daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • The right shoulder of the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) between U.S. Route 1 and Telegraph Road will be closed for roadway construction. All lanes of traffic in this area of the Inner Loop will remain open; only the shoulder will be closed.

Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
