'The Hangover Part III': Trailer, Reviews, Showtimes

Somebody may end up liking this movie, but not the critics

Finally, the long-unwaited, The Hangover Part III is here.

And the critics seem to universally hate it.

Warner Bros. has moved up the release of the trilogy's merciful end to May 23, giving The Hangover Part III a day in theaters alone before Justin Lin’s Fast & Furious 6 swoops in.

The Hollywood Reporter says:

There is one spectacular stunt which forces Phil and Alan to dangle from the roof of Caesars Palace. Otherwise, the visuals are as flat as the script. Sequels are rarely rewarding, but this sorry retread of a once inspired comedy only confirms the bankruptcy of sequel mania. At least it’s fairly short, and although a bizarre end-credit sequence seems to be opening the door for another chapter, the filmmakers have promised that this will be the end of The Hangover. We can only hope.

From The Wrap:

Returning fans will enjoy this raucous third outing, though the fun peters out noticeably in the second half as the movie’s overly complicated plot drags on.

And from Variety:

Nearly bereft of laughs, this final “Hangover” should nonetheless generate lucrative business due to simple brand recognition and a desire to see the old gang one last time as they dutifully, distractedly wind down the clock.
