Today is National Coffee Day

Obamacare goes to Supreme Court, Edison Entertainment Books are on sale now.

  1. A little warmer and a bit less humid with a high of 78 degrees, but the same rain and thunderstorms we’ve been experiencing this week are expected throughout the day.
  2. Today is National Coffee Day. There are National Coffee Day deals at Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts.
  3. Obamacare has gone to the Supreme Court. A hallmark of this health care program is the requirement that all Americans must be covered by health insurance. If they are not covered by the year 2014, they face a penalty. The federal appeals court in Atlanta struck down the mandate as unconstitutional. The 26 states and the Federation of Independent Business who brought the case to court, have now asked for a review of the entire law and not just the individual insurance mandate. President Obama’s administration has called the appeals court ruling “fundamentally flawed” and it appears the Supreme Court could begin to hear the case as early as next week.
  4. The 2012 Entertainment Coupon Books are now available! Future Business Leaders of America are selling the books and all proceeds go to providing technology and equipment to the EHS Business Department and to support the Future Business Leaders of America. The books are $30.00 and are filled with over $17,000 worth of coupons from local and area retailers in the Northern Virginia area.  Call Suzanne Engels (703) 924-8274 for more information.
  5. On this day in 1988, Stacy Allison of Portland, Oregon, summited Mt. Everest to become the first American woman to reach the highest point on earth.
