6. Telegraph Road Being Reconstructed in Preparation for Hilltop Village Center

The overload of construction work on Telegraph Road from Hilltop Golf Club to the Beulah Street intersection is all in preparation for the opening of Hilltop Village Center.

According to VDOT, the new development requires entrance improvements that will include turning lanes and road widening.

Eisenman, an Alexandria-area resident, remains hospitalized in stable condition from a gunshot would he received durig the altercation, according to a recent FCPD news release. Eisenman was issued a warrant April 30 and was remanded to the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office.

4. Springfield FBI Headquarters: GSA Expected to Start Soliciting Proposals This Summer

Based on earlier reports and comments by those involved, indications pointed to a summer Request for Proposal (RFP) date for the General Services Administration (GSA) for the new FBI headquarters. However, that decision is entirely up to the GSA, according to the Office of Supervisor Jeff McKay.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has offered the Springfield warehouse for consideration for the new FBI headquarters location. Governor Bob McDonnell also recently endorsed Springfield for the new headquarters.

Hilltop Village Center is rapidly filling up with new shops and stores around its upcoming flagship store - Wegmans.

1. UPDATED: FCPD Sends Units to U.S. Coast Guard After Reports of Shots Fired

Fairfax County police were called to the U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center on Telegraph Road after reports of shots fired Monday morning, responding by saturating the area with officers, K-9 units and by searching overhead with a helicopter.

According to the FCPD Public Information Office, the call came in shortly after 8 a.m. Monday. Hunting is permitted in an area near the location, so at the moment the police are trying to verify if there is any danger to residents.
