2013 Cherry Blossom Peak Bloom Dates Revised ... Again

We're still a week away from the peak bloom time of the cherry blossom trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC, The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang predicted Tuesday.

"The colder than average March and chilled start to April has slowed the emergence of [DC's] famed cherry blossoms. Peak bloom may not be achieved in the previously forecast April 3-7 window. Our revised window for peak bloom is April 6-10," the Capital Weather Gang stated.

NCAA March Madness 2013: Final Four Schedule, Odds, Predictions, Where to Watch

Finally, the NCAA Final Four.

The March Madness 2013 Final Four television schedule begins Saturday with a television schedule that includes Louisville v. Wichita State followed by Michigan v. Syracuse.

The Vegas lines on the Final Four give Louisville a 9.5-point edge and favor Michigan by 2. Sure, your March Madness tournament brackets are probably busted, but you can still have fun with the tournament.

Police Release Video of Potential Serial Groper Suspect

Video of a man who may be the person some people call the Fairfax County serial groper has been released by Fairfax County police.

The video is from a surveillance video taken around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the HomeGoods store in the Kingstowne Towne Center, where a possible 24th attack in the series of assaults was reported to police.

Fairfax County police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person in the video. Anyone with information should call 703-691-2131 or contact CrimeSolvers 866-411-TIPS.

Police Pursue Three Alexandria Men in Groveton

PURSUIT, Rolling Stone Way/Vantage Drive, 3/30/13, 12:35 a.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Groveton Street. The vehicle allegedly sped away. The officer was able to follow until the occupants ran away from the vehicle on Vantage Drive.

The helicopter and a K-9 team assisted in locating the occupants. Alexander Craft, 18, of Alexandria, was charged with speed to elude, driving without a license, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Keenan Strother, 26, of Alexandria, and Kibruysfa Degefa, 21, of Alexandria, were each charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Campbell & Ferrara Outdoor Living to Relocate in May

Local garden center and landscape business Campbell & Ferrara Outdoor Living is aiming to move out of their longtime Little River Turnpike location just outside of Annandale and relocate to Mount Vernon by May 31.

According to owner Donna Campbell, who co-runs Campbell & Ferrara with husband Jim, the family-owned and operated business plans to leave their Mason District location and move into their new location at 8357 Richmond Hwy., in Mount Vernon around the same time just before the start of summer.

Meadowood Barn: BLM Lease Agreement Allows 30 Boarded Horses

The horse boarding program at the Meadowood Special Recreation Area will survive for at least another year.

Barn manager Allison Mills signed a one-year lease for the Bureau of Land Management's Stables At Meadowood last Friday and is no longer tied down to her previous contract, which limited the number of horses allowed on the property to 15, as the Bureau makes its long-awaited final determination on future barn renovations.

Mount Vernon Commercial Building Fire Deemed Accidental

The fire that broke out Sunday afternoon at the commercial building housing Friendly's Rent-A-Car located at 8145 Richmond Hwy. in Mount Vernon was determined to be an accidental electrical fire.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a structure fire call on Sunday at approximately 5:20 p.m. The building contained three businesses.
