Why are Flags at Half-Staff?
Flags are at half-staff to honor Colorado shooting victims.
Flags across Northern Virginia and the rest of the country will be flying at half-staff through Wednesday to honor the victims of the movie theater shooting in Aurora, CO. The lowering applies to the flags of the United States, individual states, and county and city governments.
At the midnight showing of the at a Colorado theater on Friday, a 24-year-old man attacked a packed movie theater, killing several people and wounding dozens more.
The suspect in the shootings is headed to court Monday to face several charges of first-degree murder.
