President Barack Obama will campaign Sunday in Northern Virginia for Virginia's Democratic gubernatorial nominee Terry McAuliffe, according to a news release from the McAuliffe campaign.

No details were available as of Tuesday morning on where they will campaign in Northern Virginia. The campaign appearance by the President will come just days before Election Day next Tuesday.

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned across Virginia this week for McAuliffe, including a stop in Herndon Monday.

McAuliffe faces Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's attorney general, and Libertarian Robert Sarvis in the election.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, campaigned with Cuccinelli at a packed event Monday in Fairfax. Cuccinelli will campaign with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Bristow.

One of the most recent polls on the race, out late Monday, shows McAuliffe ahead, with 51 percent to Cuccinelli's 39 percent. The new poll, by The Washington Post/Abt-SRBI, showed Sarvis at 8 percent.

President Obama has made many forays into Northern Virginia, making campaign appearances during his own campaigns for president, as well as dining and shopping in the Commonwealth.
